PCA 2026: Tatuaje

April 19, 2026 By Matthew Tabacco

Another year, and another trip to the black and white Tatuaje booth. While I come for the cigars, I stay for the ambiance. I am a rock/hard rock guy and that is pretty much what Pete Johnson, owner and founder of Tatuaje was going for and it makes me feel at home. The usual layout and design of the booth is still in effect so no update there but this booth has been PACKED all day. I cannot say the same for every booth on the floor this year…now, what treasures did Tatuaje bring to the show?

La Riqueza SE 2026

Tatuaje Cigars released La Riqueza as a brand back in 2008. Although the blend has been retired from the core production lineup, it remains a popular Limited Edition. For this run, a 5 1/4 x 52 size was chosen for both the original Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and a Mexico San Andrés wrapper (TUXTLA). Packaged in ten count boxes, this run is limited to 2,000 ten-count boxes of each wrapper. This is an allocated product and will be offered by the sales representatives to qualifying retailers. These are expected to ship in May/June of 2026.

Creature from Tatuaje

The Creature blend from Tatuaje was added to the Monster Series when it appeared in the Monster Mash sampler back in 2021 and in another form in the Monster Smash sampler in 2024, but it has never been seen at its full size of 6 7/8 x 52. This large perfecto features an all Nicaraguan blend of wrapper, binder and filler and none of the details other than that have ever been disclosed.

  • Wrapper: Nicaragua
  • Binder: Nicaragua
  • Filler: Nicaragua
  • Size: 6 7/8 x 52 Perfecto
  • MSRP: $19.54 per cigar

Packaged in ten-count coffin shaped boxes, this run is limited to 7,000 ten-count boxes. This is also an allocated product and will be offered by the sales representatives to qualifying retailers. Tatuaje expects these to ship in May 2026.

The Old Man and the C

In addition to The Creature, Tatuaje will also release the Old Man and the C, which is a Culebra packaged with a 7 x 44 version of The Creature. There at 1,300 boxes of six coffins, each with one Culebra and one Creature.

Havana IV

Tatuaje released Havana VI in 2006, with an original six sizes (the first letter of each original size spells out HAVANA, in honor of one of Pete’s Rottweilers). The line grew by one additional size later, for a total of seven vitolas. To commemorate twenty years of Havana VI, there are two new sizes being added to the core lineup. Packaged in twenty-four count boxes, these two commemorative sizes will sit alongside their other core counterparts and feature a commemorative second band denoting twenty years. These new sizes will start shipping in the summer of 2026.

Havana VI Series B

Black Label

Tatuaje first released Tatuaje Black Label in 2007, with a run of Private Reserve Corona Gordas in a ceramic jar. It was later expanded to include five core sizes, first adding a Petite Lancero in 2011 and then three more sizes in 2016, which was its tenth anniversary. The current packaging began in 2016 as well, with twenty count black boxes. To commemorate twenty years of Black Label, there are two new sizes being added to the core lineup. Packaged in twenty count boxes, these vitolas will sport a second band denoting twenty years of the line. These new sizes will start shipping in the summer of 2026.

Tatuaje Black Label Private Reserve Robusto

El Triunfador

Originally launched with a Lancero and later expanded to include a Robusto, this year sees a new size with a traditional Cazadores, 6 3/8 x 43. The El Triunfador Original blend utilizes a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper and all Nicaragua binders and fillers to create a rich blend that is strong in flavor but medium in strength. While only the third size in the lineup, the Cazadores shows off this blend extremely well. Packaged in twenty-five count boxes, these will begin shipping in the summer of 2026.

  • Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
  • Size: 6 3/8 x 43
  • MSRP: $12.00 per cigar

Tatuaje Broadleaf

The Tatuaje Broadleaf Collection was originally introduced in a large briefcase style box. There were ten Tatuaje Brown Label SKUs that were wrapped with Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers and the box contained ten of each SKU. Each vitola was then released in ten-count boxes. Five of these will be retired and the other five – Noellas, J21, Regios, Unicos, and K222 will start shipping in twenty-one count boxes to match the other Tatuaje Brown Label sizes that are produced in Nicaragua.
