La Aurora Announces Collaboration Cigar with Football Hall of Fame Legend, Anthony Muńoz

February 13, 2026 By Matthew Tabacco

Football Greats, humanitarian efforts, cigars aficionados and an incredible Super Bowl weekend are the basis of the Annual Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund’s “Ditka Jaws Gridiron Greats Cigars with the Stars” event that took place on February 5th in San Francisco. La Aurora was proud to participate in this fantastic event which invited guests to enjoy “A Night with Legends”, bringing together Hall of Fame players and supporters from across the United States in a high-energy, purpose-driven atmosphere. This grand celebration is an important reminder of all of those amazing individuals that helped build the NFL into what it is today. We were honored by the strong turnout and engagement from both legendary players and fans, reinforcing the power of sport, storytelling, and premium experiences.

“The Gridiron Greats put on another incredible night, and it’s always an honor for us at La Aurora to be part of something that meaningful. Getting to celebrate the game and give everyone a first look at the Anthony Munoz 78 made it even more special for me personally, said John Ferrigan, La Aurora National Sales Director. ”Football and cigars may live in different arenas, but they’re built on the same foundation — craftsmanship, patience, discipline, and pride in what you create. More than anything, though, both have a way of bringing people together and turning moments into lasting bonds.”

During the evening, La Aurora had the honor to showcase the 1903 Cameroon, offering attendees a premium tasting experience that highlighted the blend’s complexity and heritage. The evening also included an exclusive sneak peek of La Aurora’s upcoming collaboration with Pro Football Hall of Fame legend Anthony Muńoz. The Anthony Muńoz 78 by La Aurora is a cigar created for connection, conversation, and reflection. This cigar will be available in a Gran Toro (6 x 60) format and features a complex blend of Criollo, Corojo, Dominican, and Pennsylvania filler tobaccos that are harmonized by a Criollo binder and wrapped in a Broadleaf wrapper. The Anthony Muńoz 78 will officially launch in Ohio at the end of February, (MSRP: $18) marking a meaningful collaboration rooted in excellence, legacy, and craftsmanship.

“We hope this cigar blesses a connection, conversation, round of golf, or a time of reflection. Thanks to the many fans and the support. Col 3:23.” Said Anthony Muńoz.

The Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund (GGAF) is a non-stock non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, providing financial grants and pro bono medical assistance to retired NFL players in dire need. The organization focuses on the humanitarian side of post-football related issues: social services to retired players who are in need due to a variety of reasons such as, inadequate disability and/or pensions.
