Felix Mesa Leaves Arturo Fuente’s Nicaraguan Operations

Yesterday, Felix Mesa announced via Instagram that he would be leaving Arturo Fuente’s Nicaraguan operations and returning to his own brand of El Galan to focus his efforts there. Mesa has been with Arturo Fuente since 2018 when the Nicaraguan factory and operations were announced at Puro Sabor. He has helped establish the farms and infrastructure for the rest of the way.
As a result of mutual a agreement, Felix Mesa’s contract with Tabacalera A. Fuente has not been renewed and is therefore terminated effective July 28th, 2023.

“It has been a pleasure working with the team at Fuente for more than four years. We’ve accomplished great things in Nicaragua, and I wish the company nothing but success,” explains Mesa.

Mesa leaves Fuente’s Nicaragua project with a thriving farm operation and a factory infrastructure that is ready for the next step. The El Galan portfolio of brands, which include El Galan, El Galan Maduro, El Galan Reserva Especial, Doña Nieves, Vegas del Purial, and Campestre, will benefit greatly from Felix’s renewed focus.

“My brands were growing at a healthy pace before I took on the Fuente project and I can’t wait to see them grow again now that they will have my full attention.”
