E.P. Carrillo Introduces Two New Encore Lines

April 27, 2024 By Matthew Tabacco

E.P. Carrillo has announced the launch and immediate release of two additional lines under the Encore brand, Encore Edicion Unica I and Encore Noir. These new additions build upon the legacy of the Encore. Both new lines symbolize the Perez-Carrillo family’s commitment to excellence in cigar craftsmanship, a journey that began over a century ago.

“Solidarios” under the Encore brand is the vitola of 56 x 6 chosen by E.P. Carrillo to introduce its inaugural Edicion Unica. These ten cigars, crafted entirely by hand with long filler, form a limited production of 1,500 individually numbered boxes and will be shipped immediately as an international exclusive annually.

Edicion Unica, which also means extraordinary and exceptional in Spanish, reflects our years of dedicated work in crafting outstanding products. E.P. Carrillo utilizes carefully selected and aged tobaccos under optimal conditions for preservation. The Nicaraguan binder and fill tobaccos have been aged for at least 10 years; while the wrapper, also sourced from Nicaragua, has been aged for five years.

The fusion of these special tobacco leaves with an exceptional cigar format ensures each series is truly UNIQUE (UNICA), offering enjoyment to both cigar connoisseurs and newcomers to this captivation world of cigars.

  • Wrapper: Nicaragua
  • Binder: Nicaragua
  • Filler: Nicaragua & Dominican Republic

“Encore Majestic No. 2”, which features a vitola of 52 x 5 3/8 has been meticulously selected by E.P. Carrillo to unveil our inaugural “round-shaped cigar with a darker wrapper” under our Encore brand. Responding to inquiries from devoted enthusiasts who wondered if we could replicate the excellence of our “Best Cigar of the Year 2018” the Majestic, but presented in a distinct format with a dark wrapper, E.P. Carrillo takes great pride in fulfilling this commitment today.

Presenting a round format with a dark wrapper that has naturally aged in bales for an impressive five-year period. Each Majestic No. 2 cigar in the Encore Noir line is intricately crafted to offer a gratifying smoking experience, featuring notes of cocoa, espresso, leather, and spices. This production comprises of 2,500 boxes shipping internationally immediately and 500 additional boxes reserved for exclusive US events, each containing 10 cigars. These limited amounts will be released both internationally & US annually.

  • Wrapper: Ecuador
  • Binder: Nicaragua
  • Filler: Nicaragua & Dominican Republic
  • Factory: Dominican Republic (Casa Carrillo)

Jorge Fernandez Maique, of Casa Carrillo and a main contributor to exploring a transformation of the original Encore blend says, “We enjoyed working with aged tobacco wrappers and different cigar shapes on these projects. Here we go on a journey, where every moment whispers an intriguing tale. With Encore Noir, by using higher priming of the wrapper, we achieved a darker wrapper that creates a significant change from the original Encore blend. With Unica, I wondered how changing the box press to a round format would influence the blend. We are very happy with the results.”

E.P. Carrillo invites cigar enthusiasts to experience both new blends, products that not only continues the legacy of the Encore series but also represents the Perez-Carrillo family’s century-long dedication to the art of cigar making.
