Steve Sake of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust announced today that there will be a new Umbagog cigar debuting at the PCA 2024 Trade Show in Las Vegas at the end of the month; the Umbagog Bronzeback.
The ‘Bronzeback’ will be a 5 x 48 cigar with the standard Umbagog blend, however, it will include a “2LS” Connecticut Broadleaf capa.
Owner Steve Saka says, “2LS is a designation for the leaves typically situated between the 1/3 to 1/2 mark on the stalk, they sit beneath what is called the mediums.” He goes on to explain, “Whether lighter or darker, the flavor is the key difference – rather than be that those classic sweet, earthy and cocoa notes exhibited by broadleaf, the 2LS leaves typically give the smoker a slightly less sweet, but significantly more peppery smoking experience. There was a brand from 80’s & 90’s thats used this 2LS capa exclusively and it was one of my favs. So I am excited to bring this alternative broadleaf flavor profile back to the market.”
The MSRP will be $97.50 per 10 count bundle and is estimated to ship in April 2024.
