First off, news out of All Saints today that they will be finally shipping six of their new cigars to retailers. These cigars were all shown at last year’s PCA Trade Show and Convention. Four of these are the new Vesper size which is a smaller format 4 1/2 x 44. This size will be offered in each of the four blends the company currently offers. The other thing about that is most of All Saint’s cigars are of a box pressed format and these are a round format, one of only two round formats the company offers. Regardless of blend, these will be offered in twenty-five count boxes for an MSRP of $9.60 per cigar.
The other round cigar vitola offered is the Mitre size and the other two cigars being shipped are the Mitre versions of the Dedicacion Habano and the St. Francis Colorado. This is a 5 x 54 torpedo that carries an MSRP of $11.20 per cigar in both blends. Micky Pegg, co-founder of All Saints, has stated that the name Mitre comes from the name of the hat worn by Roman Catholic Bishops and that the torpedo tip shape reminds him of the hat.
In addition, All Saints has declared a price increase that will take effect on February 1, 2023. The only cigars unaffected are the new cigars mentioned above as well as the St. Francis Churchill. The average increase is around 3% per SKU. As many of us have been talking about in the past two years, we expected and continue to expect price increases over the next few years due to inflation and all of the fallout from issues stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.
