Selected Tobacco to Release Bandolero Premium at PCA 2025

April 1, 2025 By Matthew Tabacco

Bandolero takes another bold step forward with the Bandolero Premium. With limited production numbers due to the extended aging process, this rare and exclusive offering will be reserved for some of the country’s finest retailers.

In the world of premium cigars, some names are whispered rather than announced and Nelson Alfonso, owner of Selected Tobacco is that name. Bandolero Premium offers a medium to full-bodied smoking experience to the cigar world with more profound notes for the additional aging process. Selected Tobacco’s cigars are rolled in Costa Rica and aged in Madrid, Spain. In addition, this limited-production cigar undergoes a unique three-year aging process within humidors lined with five different types of cedar.

“Bandolero has always carried an air of mystery, and the Bandolero Premium elevates that legacy,” said Oliver Nivaud, Director of Operations for United Cigars, the exclusive distributor of Selected Tobacco. “The dedication to aging and refinement from Selected Tobacco is unlike anything else, Bandolero Premium only reinforces our belief in the process.”

Using golden Habano 2000 wrapper leaf from Ecuador, the Bandolero Premium has a blend of Dominican and Peruvian fillers and a Dominican binder. The line is available in three vitolas: Magníficos $38 (6 x 55), Bravos $32 (5 ¼ x 52), Irónicos $24 (4 ½ x 50). The line will be packed in lacquered boxes of twenty-five.

Bandolero Premium will be released at this year’s PCA in New Orleans, LA with a select number of accounts receiving the initial offering before.
