Plasencia Cigars, a world-leading premium tobacco grower since 1865, announced today the release of the limited edition “The Year of the Dragon”. This is the fourth limited edition offering by Plasencia commemorating the Chinese New Year. This limited-edition brand is offered in a Torpedo 6 ½ x 54 Vitola. A total of 3,000 boxes of “The Year of the Dragon” were produced which will be made available for the global market.

February 10, 2024, kicks off the Chinese New Year and once again Plasencia Cigars looks to offer up a blend that not only represents the Plasencia family but also honors Chinese culture. The dragon, occupying the fifth position in the Chinese zodiac, symbolizes good luck, honor, strength, and health. In Chinese culture, distinct as a mythical creature, the Dragon has no parallel for talent and excellence.

The Plasencia family feels strongly that they share common elements with the characteristics of the Dragon. Honor, strength and striving for excellence has kept the family business thriving since 1865.

The “Year of the Dragon” is a puro using tobaccos from the various Plasencia farms within Nicaragua. The cigar is a beautiful medium-bodied cigar that is impeccably constructed. This blend was created to match the redeeming features of the dragon. Robust and bold, “The Year of the Dragon” is a cigar that is smooth and refined while offering peppery and earthy notes.

Plasencia Cigars CEO Nestor Andres Plasencia stated: “The dragon is an animal that perfectly represents our family’s drive for excellence. We look forward to celebrating the Chinese New Year with the public via this special offering.”

MSRP: $45 per cigar, $450 per ten count boxes.
