Another booth that was somewhat up front and center just next to Gurkha was Rocky Patel. Rocky Patel has been closer to the front for as far as I can remember. They seemed to have the same booth again, except this time the display tops which feature the Rocky Patel logo had a more greyish color to them and for a few years they were more orange. They still had the bar and a live performer for most of the show. This is always one of the more interesting booths I look forward to spending time in every year.
Rocky took some time to talk with us about the newest releases they had which mostly consisted of two: Thirtieth Anniversary and Year of the Snake.
Thirtieth Anniversary

Rocky showed off the new Thirtieth Anniversary. It is a limited-edition product, with one size being more limited than the others.
- Wrapper: Mexican San Andres
- Binder: Broadleaf and San Andres (double binder)
- Filler: Esteli and Condega, Nicaragua (2015 & 2016 Rocky Patel crop)
- Size: Robusto (5 1/2 x 50), Toro (6 1/2 x 52), Sixty (6 x 60)
- MSRP: $17 – $19
- Production: 10,000 Boxes
The other size features a different blend with rare and aged tobaccos that Rocky had available and is made in the toro size, but it is limited to 1,000 boxes. This cigar comes in black metal tubos in boxes of ten and has an MSRP of $47.50. Rocky told us both versions are expected to ship July/August of this year.
Year of the Snake

Rocky Patel is also participating in the Year of the Snake celebrations just like last year as he did with the Year of the Dragon. This cigar is going to be available in ten count boxes in the United States. From my understanding, there are different versions of this cigar for the other areas of the world.
- Wrapper: Ecuador Habano
- Binder: Nicaraguan Broadleaf
- Filler: Nicaragua & Honduras
- Size: Toro (6 1/2 x 52)
- MSRP: $35
- Production: 6,000 Boxes
Orders for Year of the Snake began at PCA and have already begun shipping to retailers. Check out our interviews with Rocky Patel below:
