PCA 2025: El Septimo

April 24, 2025 By Matthew Tabacco

Ah, El Septimo. Many of my readers and viewers know this one is a fun one for me. I think this is why I had a hard time feeling welcome in the booth and no one would talk to us. I had a job to do nonetheless, and I got it done. The booth seemed more stripped down than years past. No more video screens, or classical music, but the bodyguards surrounding ridiculous accessories were still in effect. The center of the booth featured humidors in the likes of a Fabergé Egg. I think the company, who has been very open on its approach to and feelings of its competitors in the industry, has hunkered down a little more and focused on opening more accounts and building their footprint in retail stores rather than bang on their chest. They aren’t going to “bury them” just showing off multi-million-dollar ash trays and humidors.

I will jump right out and say, the cooling ash tray that we recently reported on that El Septimo CEO Zaya Younan recent filed a patent for was not at the show. I was a little disappointed because I have been critical of this product and I really wanted to kick the tires and see if it really is more than just a gimmick.

Doble Gran Reserva

2025 marks twenty years that the company has been in business. That might seem odd to American smokers since they havent been around very long here, but they have had a presence over in Europe since 2005. They are celebrating the milestone with thew new Doble Gran Reserva. The company says the tobacco in this cigar is all aged between seven to ten years.

  • Wrapper: Ecuador
  • Binder: Dominican Republic
  • Filler: Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras & Nicaragua
  • Size: 6 x 52
  • MSRP: $125
  • Production: 1,000 Boxes
  • Release Date: May 2025

Fabergé Egg Cigar Humidor

In addition to the Doble Gran Reserva, El Septimo had two of three different designs of the Fabergé Egg Cigar Humidor on display in their booth. This is the third year in a row that the company has brought in multi-million-dollar accessories to showcase in the booth, even having multiple security personal on hand to ensure their safety. They are all made from solid marble and feature 18k gold with 475 carats diamonds and other gemstones. They are opened with a matching remote control that opens the humidor revealing the twenty-four cigars inside. El Septimo has said that they were not for sale, they had a price tag of $25 million each. These are the themes of each of the three humidors:

  • Mother Humidor — Tribute to Saint Peter’s Basilica
  • Emperor Collection — Tribute to Queen Sheba
  • Ashurbanipal — Tribute to the Assyrian king
