Last year we met Sebastian Decoppet of Cavalier Cigars at PCA 2021. This year, we followed up with him and found out what he had that was new to the market. In a modest booth similar to what they used last year, all of the CG cigars were on display looking very warm and inviting as I entered the booth. We didn’t get a video interview with Sebastian due to our own staff and equipment problems at the time.
Cavalier Geneve Limited Edition 2022
Once again, the Cavalier Geneve LE is on display and for the third time it is a 6 x 54 toro. Right away you will notice that it is different from the barber pole iteration and the much darker one as well. There is a light caramel covered wrapper on this cigar, which is undisclosed. In fact, the entire blend is undisclosed as Cavalier always does with the LE.
Only 1,948 of these boxes will be made, which Sebastian says is to represent the melting point of gold – 1948 degrees Fahrenheit. These will come in a box of ten and will retail at $120 or $12 per cigar MSRP.
Another new cigar from Cavalier is the Inner Circle. We had the pleasure of smoking this cigar with Sebastian last month after the trade show when he came on The Smokin Tabacco Show. It is the first cigar that will not feature the gold flake diamond on the wrapper near the band. This is a project Sebastian said he wanted to be different as the company strolls down new avenues. Inner Circle shipped in July of this year.
