PCA 2020 Trade Show Has Been Cancelled

May 14, 2020 By Matthew Tabacco

The Premium Cigar Association announced that it’s trade show, scheduled to take place July 10-14 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Sands Expo Center at the Venetian Resort & Casino, has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking to many other industry friends the past few weeks, this news was inevitable.

For the past few months, even with the ever changing uncertainty with the pandemic, the PCA has said the show would continue. However, my sources had been reporting there was absolutely no way this would happen as it was unsafe to do so. Manufacturers simply won’t have the inventory available for the show after shutting down factories, and retailers won’t be able to spend money on new inventory while fighting to keep their businesses alive after being closed in many states.

It will be interesting to see how other events in the industry play out moving forward. InterTabac has recently announced that their show which takes place in Germany this September will be going ahead as scheduled… for now.
