Micallef Cigars Introduces ‘Micallef Black’

May 27, 2023 By Matthew Tabacco

Micallef Cigars is excited to announce the release of its first new blend since the release of the Micallef A in 2020.

Striking in its simplicity, Micallef Black evokes elegance and sophistication with rich cocoa and leather flavors. Micallef Black packs a punch but delivers a smooth and luxurious smoke from start to finish.

Blended by Micallef Cigars’ master blenders, Joel and Edel Gomez-Sanchez, the new cigar adds full-bodied smoke to the Micallef portfolio. The Micallef Ambassador group made requests of Micallef for a new cigar with more strength. Many of Micallef’s current lines are medium-bodied, with fewer options at both ends of the strength spectrum.

“I am impressed by the outstanding work of our factory.” Shared Al Micallef, founder. “The Gomez-Sanchez family’s precise fermentation and construction techniques, coupled with their strong relationships with tobacco farmers like the Turrent family, create excellent cigars.”

Three years of dedicated effort and strategic planning culminated in creating the Micallef Black. An all-in approach was adopted, making substantial investments in high-grade tobacco while concurrently escalating production at the Micallef Cigars factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The commitment and diligence to achieve an annual production milestone of 1 million cigars underscore the brand’s unwavering growth and success.

Dan Thompson, the President of Micallef Cigars, enthusiastically remarked, “With Micallef Black, our intention is to present a cigar that exudes power, confidence, and a touch of allure. Moreover, we are thrilled to offer this exceptional blend at an unbeatable value.”

Micallef Black is available in Toro and Robusto sizes in 25-count boxes and will release at PCA 2023 and select pre-release events in June.
