Manny Iriarte Enterprises was established four years ago, and on the heels of that venture came the debut of another: Fuente The OpusX Society, a unique cigar-lifestyle accessories brand based on the iconic Fuente Fuente OpusX cigar series that offers the dual vision of Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. and Manny Iriarte.
In a natural progression stemming from the fledgling brand’s remarkable success and upward trajectory, the cofounders have decided—in something of a strategic reverse-engineering maneuver—to create and launch a companion cigar (one vitola only) to complement and support the fine accessories created for those with a passion for the most elegant ways to enjoy their smoke of choice.
Fuente and Iriarte determined that nowhere would be more appropriate to launch this brand extension than one of the most important events on the trade calendar: the Premium Cigar Association (PCA2023) Convention & International Trade Show, which takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada, July 7-11.
There, under the neon lights of the Las Vegas Strip, this new cigar—the latest member of the OpusX family—will be exhibited for the first time.
“The OXS is a unique and extremely limited Opus Blend. Different and Xtremely impressive richness and intensity,” said Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. of the forthcoming OpusX Society cigar series.
Iriarte was quick to note that retailers who have supported the Fuente The OpusX Society accessories line from the beginning will receive priority for cigar orders and delivery. Additionally he commented, “While I am not a master blender, obviously Carlito is. This cigar is the result of a series of ongoing conversations between us. The result? Something previously never done within the OpusX series, and truly emblematic our combined vision for OpusX Society. I am endlessly humbled by Carlito’s generosity and giving spirit, which we now get to share with all of you.”
There is currently no set MSRP; additionally, the blend specifics will not be disclosed. The entire project from the cigars and the cigar box is made by Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The exact date and time of the cigar’s PCA2023 debut is on July 8th at 3:00 pm at the Manny Iriarte Enterprises booth #3055.
At this year’s PCA no OXS Cigars will be sold. The OXS Cigars will be sold at the end of the first quarter of 2024 only to the existing accounts. Sales and distribution of the new cigar will not be managed by Arturo Fuente but by a new independent entity, The Smoking Frenchies, LLC.
