JRE Announces Aladino Sumatra Limited Edition

September 25, 2023 By Matthew Tabacco

Julio and Justo began experimenting with Sumatra in 2016 – the same time they began growing Cameroon. This is the first year that they will release a blend with their Honduran-grown Sumatra. This one of their “aces” as they call it and have been keeping it to themselves and are introducing the Sumatra to showcase their capability to master growing multiple and sometimes challenging tobacco varieties.

Aladino Sumatra shines light on a younger side to Aladino. With the fourth generation getting more involved, a more modern play on box design felt like a natural progression for the brand, while keeping the traditional Aladino band and elegant presentation. This is the first Aladino cigar blend that does not have the iconic Aladino image in the inside of the box.

  • Wrapper: Honduras Sumatra
  • Binder & Filler: Tobacco varieties of undisclosed origin from JRE Tobacco Farm
  • Box count: 20 cigars
  • Vitola: Toro 52 x 6
  • MSRP: $16.00
  • Country of Origin: Honduras
  • Factory: Fabrica de Puros Aladino at Las Lomas Jamastran

The dark Sumatra is bolder and punchier than the brand’s regular lines, offering those who longed for a fuller Aladino cigar something totally different yet still balanced and full of complexity. The Sumatra was first available for pre- orders at PCA and will start shipping in October 2023.
