After years of relentless pursuit for perfection, legendary cigar maker Julio Eiroa is finally ready to introduce his highly anticipated 85th Anniversary Cigar. Originally intended as an 80th anniversary project, the quest for an unforgettable, legacy-defining cigar took longer than expected. Now, at 87 years old, Julio proudly presents a Pinareño puro, crafted from the rare and challenging Pinareño seed, first brought to Honduras by Tino Agurdin in 1960.
The Pinareño seed, known for its small yields and delicate nature, is even more susceptible to disease than Corojo, making it a rarity in tobacco fields. But for Julio, this was never about ease—it was about achieving perfection. Committed to using a true Cuban seed, he meticulously blended his Pinareño crop until he found the balance he sought: a smooth, aromatic, and flavorful mild-to medium cigar, offering notes of cedar, cinnamon, chestnuts, and lingering florals.

The 85th Anniversary Cigar will be available in two sizes: a 5 x 50 robusto with an MSRP of $17.50 and a 6 x 52 toro with an MSRP of $20.00. It is manufactured at Fabrica de Puros Aladino in Honduras.
True to Julio’s signature style, the 85th Anniversary Cigar exudes old-school cool and nostalgia. The box is yellow, his favorite color, and proudly features his classic yellow 1961 Buick, a nod to his deep-rooted connection for the Cuba he knew and the journey that followed.
This new line will be a permanent part of the JRE portfolio, yet availability will remain exclusive limited to four boxes per vitola a month. With the 85th Anniversary Cigar, Julio Eiroa reaffirms his legacy, proving once again that greatness has no timeline – only passion and precision.
