In 2013, Joya de Nicaragua’s celebrated its 45th anniversary with Cuatro Cinco “Edición Limitada”. This was the very first release in the Obras Maestras ultra-premium family of cigars — made with meticulously selected, barrel-aged tobaccos. It featured all Nicaraguan fillers, including five-year-aged ligeros matured in whiskey-rum white oak casks. A carefully modified blend then later became Cuatro Cinco “Reserva Especial”. More than a decade later, Joya de Nicaragua has announced another special release for Cuatro Cinco – Cuatro Cinco “Secret Cask.”

“In 2013, we set aside a few barrels of aging tobacco for a future purpose, in a room that feels almost sacred within our factory. We began calling it the Secret Cask — a sanctuary where temperature and humidity are carefully regulated, and where time itself becomes an ingredient. These barrels have
cradled the finest, most carefully selected leaves, whispering their secrets into the tobacco, deepening its soul, and weaving an unparalleled richness into every note. Now, years later, the Secret Cask is no longer a secret — its treasure is ready to be revealed.” Says Juan Ignacio Martínez, Joya de Nicaragua´s Executive President.
Total production is set to be of 1,500 boxes — 700 destined for the U.S. and 800 for the rest of the world — Cuatro Cinco “Secret Cask” uses the same blend of the original Edición Limitada: 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos in its wrapper, binder, and fillers. Packaged in the same elegant 6 x 54 box-pressed format that debuted in 2013, it will retail at an MSRP of $18.95 per cigar and $189.50 per box. Each ten-count box includes a mini-casket containing filler tobaccos that replicate the unique Secret Cask aging process. This highly anticipated release will begin shipping to stores in early November 2025.
