Newman Cigar Co. has begun shipping its new Vintage Ashtray. Inspired by New York City’s legendary Stork Club, these new ceramic ashtrays are handcrafted, and hand painted. They are now shipping to premium cigar retailers nationwide.
“When the swanky Stork Club opened in Manhattan in 1929, it was a place for movie stars, professional athletes, and politicians to be seen,” said Drew Newman, fourth generation owner. “The Stork Club was a place my grandparents, Stanford and Elaine Newman, frequented in New York. Every time celebrities were photographed at the Stork Club, the famous Stock Club ashtray was on the table in front of them.”
Ten inches in diameter, the Vintage Ashtrays feature stamped, raised lettering that reads “J.C. NEWMAN CIGAR CO., TAMPA, FLA., 1895.” The suggested retail price is $50.
“I have created this Vintage Ashtray to celebrate the century-old legacy of the Stork Club and J.C. Newman Cigar Co., the oldest family-owned premium cigar company in America,” said Newman.
