InterTabac 2020 CANCELLED

May 28, 2020 By Matthew Tabacco

I guess that saying that “everything happens in threes’ is true! InterTabac is now the third industry trade show to be formally cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was originally scheduled for September 18th through the 20th in Dortmund, Germany. The cancellation was greeted with mixed reactions due to the severity of COVID-19, but also caught attendees off guard since earlier this month Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe (InterTabac Owners) said they would continue as planned. They had even announced all the safety measures and precautions that would be put in place. It seems as though this was probably the best decision as most exhibitors have expressed they do not feel like risking potential COVID-19 exposure by traveling to Germany for the show.

The next big industry show scheduled is the Tobacco Plus Expo, or “TPE’, which is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada in January 2021. Other tobacco industry gatherings such as Cigar Aficionado’s “Big Smoke’ is still scheduled for November 2020. So far events scheduled in late 2020 and beyond are still moving forward, but only time will tell if they do end up taking place.
