Gurkha announced today the highly anticipated return of the Colección Especial. The cigar made its debut a few years ago and was arguably one of their best releases in the last few years. However, Gurkha’s Colección Especial was placed on hold in February of 2024 due to the scarcity of the hybrid Ecuadorian wrapper used on the cigar. One year later, the company is happy to announce its return to shelves.
“We’re proud to re-introduce the Colección Especial to circulation,” commented Jim Colucci, President and CEO of Gurkha Cigar Group. “This cigar is better than ever and we can’t wait for everyone to try it again.”
The Colección Especial can be found in it’s white iconic 10 count boxes and three shapes and sizes: Robusto (5 x 52), Toro (6 x 54), and Lonsdale (6 1/4 x 48). The cigar MSRP ranges from $12.95-$14.95. The re-release of the cigar is made by Jochy Blanco and Tabacalera La Palma in the Dominican Republic. Gurkha says it has already begun shipping to retailers.
“After a year of waiting for the wrapper to be ready, we are finally able to share the Colección Especial with everyone again,” noted Juan Lopez, VP of Sales at Gurkha. “I’m incredibly excited for everyone to try it again for the first time.”
