Dubbed “The Biggest Event of the year for the premium tobacco industry” by the PCA’s website, there will be thousands of attendees from all over the world visiting New Orleans this month for the annual Premium Cigar Association Tradeshow. Many manufacturers consider this their superbowl event of the year where they can showcase their products and see customers from all over the world under one roof over a matter of just three days.
This year, Gurkha Cigar Group, Inc is set to introduce several new products to their lineup including the following cigars: Year of Snake, Fat Boy, Dragonfly, Ghost Baggie, and Volition America.
The Year of Snake by Gurkha is in collaboration with three prominent manufacturers:
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, Oscar Valladares, and Oliva Cigar Co. The Gurkha Year of Snake by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo is a housed in a ten count, blue humidor. The cigar is made in the Dominican Republic by E.P. Carrillo and has a beautiful Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper. It is a torpedo 6 1/2 x 52 and carries a $19.95 MSRP.
The Gurkha Year of Snake by Oscar Valladares is a housed in a ten count, red humidor. The cigar is made in the Honduras by Oscar Valladares and has a beautiful Habano wrapper. It is a parejo 6 x 52 and carries a $19.95 MSRP.
The Gurkha Year of Snake by Oliva Cigar Co. is a housed in a 10 count, black humidor. The cigar is made in the Nicaragua by Oliva Cigar Co. and has a beautiful Mexican San Andres wrapper. It is a box pressed figurado 6 5/8 x 52 and carries a $19.95 MSRP. There are only 750 humidors from each manufacturer that were produced.
Additionally, Gurkha Cigars is releasing an exquisite collector’s edition green domed humidor adorning the same figure eight snake on top. Gurkha will only release 500 numbered humidors that carry an MSRP of $1,200.00.
The Gurkha Fat Boy is housed in a twenty count box and is made in three different parejo size: 4 x 60, 5 x 66, and 6 x 66. The Gurkha Fat Boy is made in Nicaragua and is adorned with a cream colored band, simply stating “Fat Boy” across the center. Retail pricing on the Fat Boy includes $8.95 for the 4 x 60, $9.50 for the 5 x 66, and $9.95 for the 6 x 66. The Fat Boy includes an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper; Sumatra, Jalapa Corojo 2012 binder; and seco, viso, ligero Nicaraguan filler.
Released in September 2023 at the Intertabac, the Dragonfly was introduced to the international market. This year, Gurkha is offering the product to the United States at the PCA Show. The Dragonfly includes an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Sumatra binder, and Dominican, Criollo 98, and Nicaraguan Fillers. Gurkha’s Dragonfly is made in the Dominican Republic and carries and MSRP of $17.50. The Dragonfly is housed in a decorative box of twenty cigars and each cigar is presented in a glass tube.
Gurkha’s Ghost Baggie will replace the yellow-red bag that previously housed the Ghost family lineup. Six assorted Ghost Asura cigars will now be found in a branded Ghost fresh-pack baggie. The sampler holds two Ghost, two Ghost Gold, and two Ghost Connecticut cigars and is continued to be produced in the Dominican Republic. The Ghost Baggie holds and MSRP of $43.00.
Finally, Volition America by Gurkha Cigars is being showcased for the first time to the industry as a whole, since it’s official release on November 11, 2024 at the annual Folds of Honor Event in Lake Nona, FL. First shown at the TAA Show last fall, the Volition America by Gurkha Cigars are housed in red, white, and blue patriotic boxes. Continuing to carry the significance of the thirteen folds of the American Flag, the boxes hold thirteen cigars and each carry a $13.00 MSRP. The boxes are the red, white, and blue colors with the red box housing the maduro blend, the white box housing the habano blend, and the blue box housing the Connecticut blend. Each cigar is blended in Nicaragua.
In addition, Gurkha Cigars is showcasing the Freedom Humidor, which houses 200 cigars and an American flag framed inside the top lid. The Freedom Humidor holds an MSRP of $1,500.00 and accompanies a gold ashtray and lighter branded for Volition America by Gurkha Cigars. All Volition America products hold a greater purpose as 13% of their revenue is donated to Folds of Honor.
