Foundation Cigar Company has another two new additions to its celebrated Wise Man portfolio: The Wise Man Corojo Lancero and The Wise Man Maduro Lancero. These 7 x 40 vitolas will debut at the 2025 PCA Trade Show in New Orleans this weekend and will begin shipping to select retailers across the U.S. in Summer/Fall 2025.
A tribute to Menelik I, the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, The Wise Man series honors history, heritage, and the craft of fine cigar blending. The new Lancero vitolas offer aficionados a focused and nuanced experience of two of Foundation’s most complex blends.
The Wise Man Corojo Lancero is a Nicaraguan puro with a Corojo 99 wrapper over premium filler tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa. Nick says this vitola reveals heightened spice, cedar, and a refined natural sweetness that reflects the core of Nicaraguan terroir and tradition.
The Wise Man Maduro Lancero features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, with a San Andrés binder and Nicaraguan fillers. In the Lancero format, Nick says the blend delivers intensified notes of cocoa, espresso, and earth, offering a deep, lingering complexity with exceptional balance.
“The Lancero has always held a special place in my heart—it was one of my grandfather’s favorite sizes, and one I’ve admired since I began blending cigars,” said Nicholas Melillo, Founder and Master Blender of Foundation Cigar Company. “This vitola puts the wrapper on full display, allowing the richness and nuance of both the Corojo and Maduro blends to shine in a truly refined way.”
Both The Wise Man Corojo Lancero and The Wise Man Maduro Lancero will be available in twenty-count boxes, offering retailers and consumers a classic presentation worthy of the blends’ sophistication.
