In a press release sent out today, E.P. Carillo Cigar Co. announced that they will be changing the name of their factory from “Tabacalera La Alianza” to “Casa Carrillo”.
Back in 2009, Tabacalera La Alianza opened in Santiago’s Zona Franca (Dominican Republic) as a 40,000 square foot facility. The Cuban inspired premium cigar brand chose the factory name as its symbolized family collaboration, especially with Ernesto III and Lissette Carrillo as the current head directives. Owned and operated by an industry veteran with over 50 years of experience, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, the factory has produced a wide range of award-winning cigar brands.
“Despite our unwavering dedication and top-tier quality, we’ve observed that our factory’s previous name wasn’t as closely associated with our legacy and our flagship cigar brand E.P. Carrillo as we’d like. The term “casa,” meaning “home,” reflects our essence. It’s where our iconic brands have not just been created but lovingly nurtured, much like a family,” said Ernesto Pérez-Carrillo in the press release.
There should be no disruptions to factory operations with the change.
