E.P. Carrillo has announced the release of its 15 Year Anniversary Cigar, a cigar crafted to celebrate the brand’s remarkable journey since its inception. This 6 1/2 x 54 Gran Toro represents the expertise, dedication, and passion that have defined E.P. Carrillo over the last 15 years. Showcasing extra-aged tobaccos, this cigar stands as a true testament to the brand’s craftsmanship and innovation.
The 15 Year Anniversary Cigar from E.P. Carrillo is a limited-edition release with only 5,000 boxes available, split between 3,500 for the U.S. market and 1,500 for international buyers. Each box contains fifteen cigars, retailing at $20 each, offering cigar enthusiasts an accessible yet collectible experience. Shipping is scheduled to begin in mid-November 2024, ensuring the cigars reach retailers just in time for the holiday season.
At the core of the 15 Year Anniversary Cigar lies a carefully curated selection of tobaccos. The cigar features a 10-year-aged Mexican San Andres wrapper, handpicked by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo for its rich texture and oiliness. Complementing this is a 15-year-aged Jalapa binder from Nicaragua, ensuring a balanced and smooth smoking experience. The filler is made up of eight distinct tobaccos, including Criollo 98 Ligero from Estelí, Corojo 99 Ligero from the Dominican Republic’s La Canela region, and Condega Viso Seco and Viso from Jalapa, Nicaragua, aged between five and seven years.

“This cigar represents our journey over the last 15 years,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, Founder of E.P. Carrillo. “It reflects the challenges we’ve overcome, the progress we’ve made, and the passion we bring to every cigar we create. We wanted to craft something truly special to commemorate this milestone.”
The 15 Year Anniversary Cigar was created at the Casa Carrillo factory in the Dominican Republic and will make its debut at an exclusive event on November 15, 2024, at 8 to 8 Cigars in Villa Park, IL. The event will feature Ernie Perez-Carrillo III and Jorge Luis Fernandez Maique, a key collaborator on the project and a former President of Habanos S.A. Maique, known for his creation of the Cuban Cohiba Behike, contributed his expertise to the development of this anniversary cigar.
“We are thrilled to announce the E.P. Carrillo 15-year anniversary celebration at 8 to 8 Cigars, recently renovated and recognized as one of the most luxurious lounges in the U.S.,” said 8 to 8 Cigars. “This event is a momentous occasion for both E.P. Carrillo and our shop, and will feature a curated pairing of two cigars with exquisite finger foods. Seating is limited, so we encourage guests to reserve their spots early.”
Jorge Luis Fernandez Maique expressed his excitement: “Working with these specially aged tobaccos has been a unique journey, each component telling its own story. We are very proud of the final blend.”
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo III added, “I’m looking forward to celebrating our 15th anniversary with our extended family at 8 to 8. This cigar was a passion project, and its release marks a major milestone for our company.”
