Drew Estate Adds Limited Edition Lancero Size to BLACKENED Line

September 24, 2025 By Matthew Tabacco

Yesterday, Drew Estate introduced the first-ever Lancero size for both the BLACKENED M81 and BLACKENED S84 cigars. The cigars measure 7 x 40 and are crafted for those who crave precision, complexity, and full-throttle flavor.

Each Lancero expression will be limited in production and presented in elegant fifteen-count boxes, making this drop an instant collectible for fans of both the M81’s bold Maduro-on-Maduro-on-Maduro profile and the S84’s refined, yet electrifying Connecticut Shade experience.

“This new Lancero is a guitar solo in cigar form,” says Jonathan Drew, Founder and President of Drew Estate. “It’s long, lean, and delivers deep, concentrated flavor from foot to head. The M81 Lancero slaps with rich, dark, and heavy notes, while the S84 Lancero is like a clean intro riff—smooth, creamy, and soulful—but with that metallic edge.”

Originally created in collaboration with Metallica’s James Hetfield, BLACKENED’s Master Distiller Rob Dietrich, and Drew Estate, the BLACKENED cigar line has become a sensation among cigar lovers and metalheads alike. The M81’s triple Maduro blend – Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Maduro binder, and Maduro long-fillers from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania – offers a dark, earthy powerhouse.  Meanwhile, the S84, with its Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper and a rich mix of Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania filler, brings a bright, complex flavor profile with plenty of attitude.

“The Lancero format showcases the blend in a way no other size can,” explains Dietrich. “You get this incredible ratio of wrapper to filler, making every puff more rich, more refined. It’s raw, real, and unapologetically bold – just like BLACKENED.”

Drew Estate says the BLACKENED Lancero M81 and S84 became available in August at
participating Drew Diplomat Program retailers, while supplies last.
