Ten years after the introduction of its last black band cigar, Davidoff Cigars unveils its latest creation: the Davidoff Puro Dominicano. This new line takes aficionados on an aromatic journey through the heart of the Dominican Republic and joins the existing Escurio, Nicaragua, and Yamasá lines of the Black Band Collection. Composed exclusively of well-aged tobaccos from six Dominican terroirs – with a combined age of 32 years – this exceptional blend will be available in three exciting formats: Short Robusto, Corona Larga, and Perfecto.
This cigar only shares a name with the original 5 3/4 x 48 belicoso that was released as a limited edition in 2009. This iteration of Puro Dominicano will be a three-vitola regular production item as well as with new packaging. This will use a different blend than the original 2009 release. The name Puro Dominicano means purely Dominican, meaning this is an all Dominican cigar, or a puro. Blend specifics haven been shared yet, but Davidoff did say that there are tobaccos from six different regions all with a combined age of up to thirty-two years.
The Puro Dominicano will be available in the following three sizes:
- Short Robusto (4 1/2 x 52) — $19.80
- Corona Larga (5 7/8 x 44) — $23.30
- Perfecto (5 1/2 x 50) — $25.20
“With Puro Dominicano, we are strengthening the foundation of our Black Band Collection by highlighting the Dominican Republic’s exceptional tobacco heritage. This line reflects our commitment to innovation within our core competencies and our continued pursuit of excellence in craftsmanship”, says Javier González, SVP Head Global Marketing & Innovation at Oettinger Davidoff. “But above all, Puro Dominicano offers our consumers an experience that is both deeply Dominican and unmistakably Davidoff: warm, rich, and multi-layered, with a flavour progression that evolves throughout the enjoyment. It is a journey of discovery – creamy, refined, and compelling – crafted for aficionados who appreciate depth, balance, and the pleasure of being continually surprised.”
Davidoff also said these will be available in boxes of twelve and as a five pack. Expect to see these hit store shelves next month.
