Casa Carrillo Unveils ‘Woman Inspired’ La Historia Silk

August 29, 2025 By Matthew Tabacco

Casa Carrillo introduces La Historia Silk, a bold new chapter in the Perez-Carrillo legacy. Born from authentic conversations with women across the cigar industry—retailers, aficionados, and leaders—Silk captures the intersection of generational tradition, meticulous craftsmanship, and forward-thinking innovation.

Crafted exclusively in a 6 x 52 Toro format with a refined medium strength, La Historia Silk is a cigar designed for all smokers-seasoned aficionados and newcomers alike. It also marks the first round-format Perez-Carrillo cigar released in the U.S., further highlighting its unique place in the family’s history.

This release also marks a historic milestone: Silk is the first cigar to feature the new Casa Carrillo branding on its packaging, with the name prominently displayed on the foot band—a symbol of the family’s evolution and enduring presence in humidors worldwide.

At the heart of Silk is an Ecuador Habano wrapper grown in Quevedo, carefully fermented and aged for over 18 months to achieve its refined character. It is paired with a Nicaragua Estelí binder and an intricate filler blend that includes Nicaraguan Estelí, Philadelphia Broadleaf, Dominican La Canela, and Mexican San Andrés tobaccos—enhanced by the rare addition of Pelo de Oro from the Dominican Republic, a tobacco seldom cultivated due to its difficulty but celebrated for its richness and depth.

Produced in limited runs several times a year, La Historia Silk will be shipped in waves to select retailers nationwide and international partners, ensuring availability throughout the year while maintaining its exclusivity.

“Silk was born from listening,” said Lissette Perez-Carrillo, Co-Owner of Casa Carrillo. “It reflects the stories, experiences, and insights of women in our industry, while being crafted for all cigar lovers. Having it be the first release to carry the Casa Carrillo name on its foot band makes it even more meaningful—it’s a symbol of our evolution and the future we’re building.”

Adding to the significance of the project, Lissette’s daughter Skye—the fifth generation of the Casa Carrillo family—helped collaborate on the release, further deepening the connection between heritage, innovation, and the voices shaping the next chapter of the brand.

La Historia Silk will begin shipping next week to allocated retailers, with only 1,500 boxes of ten cigarsproduced in the first run. The suggested retail price per cigar is $16.50.
