After more than 5 years of preparation, the Atabey Black Ritos by Nelson Alfonso of Selected Tobacco is
now shipping to United Cigar Branded lounges and NFT Box holders. As the world’s first cigar NFT, the Atabey Black Ritos NFT was first released in 2021 and sold as single and box NFT’s. Enthusiasts were able to purchase the NFT boxes at a set price of $1,200 as Atabey Black Ritos NFT’s were released with a charitable intent and not as an auction item. The five NFT boxes, purchased by US based retailers, has given them access to purchase an allotted portion of this limited production. After five years of post-roll age in Selected Tobacco’s aging rooms, the cigars are now shipping to only ten retailers across the country.
The Atabey Black Ritos has amplified body compared to the original. Measuring 6 1/8 x 55, and showcasing a dark Ecuador wrapper, the Atabey Black Series has been limited to one vitola as of now. Only 5,000 cigars were rolled in 2018 for this 2023 release, and aged in rooms lined with five different cedars and French Oak for the aging process, imparting a depth and complexity to the Atabey Black Ritos that is truly unparalleled. The Atabey Black Ritos will be presented in elegant, black lacquered boxes of 25, exuding sophistication and luxury in every detail. The Atabey Black Ritos will be available at a retail price of $50 per cigar, and its exclusive availability will be granted to a select few who embraced not only the vision of United Cigars and Selected Tobacco but plunged into the unknown with the cigar industry’s first NFT.
