Atabey Black Ritos by Nelson Alfonso of Selected Tobacco is now shipping the 2019 vintage to United
Cigar Branded lounges and NFT Box holders. As the world’s first cigar NFT, the Atabey Black Ritos originally released in 2021 and NFT enthusiasts were able to purchase NFT boxes at a set price of $1,200. The set price was due to the fact Atabey Black Ritos NFT’s were released with a charitable intent and not as an auction item.
The box NFT, purchased by US based retailers, has given an additional five retailers access to purchase an allotted portion of this limited production. After five years of post-roll age in Selected Tobacco’s aging rooms, the 2024 release is now shipping to only ten retailers across the country. Delivering a medium-bodied experience, the Atabey Black Ritos features a dark Ecuador wrapper around fillers of Dominican and Peruvian tobaccos.
Measuring 6 1/8 x 55, Atabey Black is limited to one vitola, presented in elegant, black lacquered boxes of 25, highlighting its sophistication and luxury in every detail. Aged in rooms lined with five different cedars and French Oak for its unique aging process; imparting a depth and complexity to the Atabey Black Ritos that is truly unparalleled.
The Atabey Black Ritos has an MSRP of $50 per cigar, and its exclusive availability will be granted to a select few who embraced not only the vision of United Cigars and Selected Tobacco but plunged into the
unknown with the cigar industry’s first NFT.
