2021 Cigar of the Year #10: HVC “Hot Cake” Gran Canon

December 1, 2021 By Matthew Tabacco

When Master Blender Reinier Lorenzo moved to the United States from Cuba, he had no intention of becoming a cigar maker or having anything to do with cigars. In 2011 he started HVC cigars, which pays tribute to his home of Havana City, Cuba. Since then, he has built quite the portfolio with a dedicated and loyal following in HVC. From the HVC Broadleaf to the annual release of Black Friday, HVC has become one of the hottest new brands in premium cigars in the last ten years. The Hot Cake is no exception.

With notes of spice, dried fruit and rosemary, the Hot Cake Gran Canon is another true example of the success of HVC. This 6 x 60 cigar is sure to leave you wanting more with its rich binder and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and a flavorful Mexican San Andreas wrapper. They retail for $11 per cigar or a box of twenty-five for $275. Look for it at your local brick and mortar retailer.

Cigar of the Year rank: #10
