2025 Smokin Tabacco Awards: Factory of the Year

January 21, 2026 By Matthew Tabacco

One of the more important awards, at least in my opinion, is Factory of the Year. This award is one that celebrates a factory who has been considered on top of their game and produces cigars that continue to perform to the highest excellence. A Factory of the Year winner is one that leaves no stones unturned, produces great cigars and has absolute consistency. Last year our Factory of the Year winner was My Father Cigars S.A., who came in a very strong second in this year’s voting.

For 2025, the factory we felt best met these guidelines was Tabacalera Perdomo. Over the last several years, many factories have had to deal with many different variables from the pandemic to increases in demand, labor shortages etc. But while many persevered and carried their weight, very few carried it to the excellence of the prestigious Tabacalera Perdomo. Known for their famous “Quality, Tradition and Excellence” along with some of the best consistency in the cigar business, the Perdomo’s also very vertically integrated. While they are certainly not the only ones who are, they execute every step of the process in all departments with precision.

Tabacalera Perdomo is also on a hot streak. Not only did they win Cigar of the Year 2024 and Cigar of the Year 2025, but they won the latter based on everything above in addition to the use of a new Nicaraguan Shade grown that is new to their portfolio. The fact that a company who is not known for many releases year after year was able to take two important releases to the top two years in a row. For me, that screams bulletproof. Congrats to the Perdomo Family on their second award of the season!
