2021 XXIII Festival del Habano Officially Canceled

November 24, 2020 By Matthew Tabacco

Today, Habanos S.A. announced the cancelation of the 2021 Festival del Habano due to the on going COVID-19 pandemic. We are still not out of the woods yet and cigar events have continued to be canceled. With no end in sight, 2021 is already looking very dim just like 2020 has. Habanos S.A. released the following statement:

“Due to the global context we are living, Habanos, S.A. has decided to cancel the 23rd Habano Festival scheduled for February 2021.

The company, as a worldwide market leader, is working to surprise the Habano aficionados in 2021, year in which our most prestigious brand, Cohiba, celebrates its 55th anniversary.”

Best regards.

Habanos S.A.

One can only wonder what the tease at the end of the message will mean. Cohiba is perhaps the most well know and most sought after cigar brands of all time, and 55 years is quite the milestone. I anticipate something BIG coming from Habanos S.A. in the coming months, perhaps an addition to the prestigious Behike line or another off shoot of the Cohiba line all together. Time will tell but my guess is to expect some sort of news after the new year.
