2021 Cigar of the Year #8: Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua Churchill

December 8, 2021 By Matthew Tabacco

We all know about Montecristo’s core line of cigars that you would find on almost every shelf in every cigar shop. However, sometimes their other releases can be forgotten about. That ones you do not always see. The last few years I have heavily enjoyed Montecristo cigars when I have been in certain shops who carry certain things. The “Monte”, done in collaboration with AJ Fernandez, is perhaps my favorite Montecristo of all time.

At the end of last year we got word that Altadis was preparing to release the “1935 Anniversary Nicaragua”to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the brand. It is available in four different box presses vitolas. Coming in at number eight, the 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua Churchill is a cigar that I kept coming back to this year. I just knew it would be in my top ten.

The 1935 Anniversary Churchill Nicaragua is a 7 x 52 cigar retailing for $17.50 per cigar or a box of ten for $175. Whether you are a Montecristo smoker or not, ask your local brick and mortar retailer for these and give them a shot. You won’t be disappointed.
