If you smoke at lounges or maybe spend a significant amount of time on social media sifting through cigar profiles and content, you are probably aware that cigars are not just for men anymore. Women are now playing a huge role in the culture and spirit of the cigar smoking lifestyle.

As many of you know, Smokin Tabacco is also home to a female member of the cigar media – Nicole Patrice. So this also hits home for us too. But what you might not know is that there is a global movement that has started aimed at furthering and promoting women in not only the cigar industry on the business side, but all women cigar smokers.

SOTL Global Movement (SGM) and Light “em Up are proud to announce today that the organizations have entered into a strategic partnership that will promote women friendly cigar lounges across the globe. For those who don’t know, SOTL is an acronym for “Sisters of the Leaf”.

The agreement brings together the cigar platform oftomorrow, Light “em Up a pioneer of its kind, and SOTL Global Movement – an organization that aims to introduce women to the cigar world, to inspire and lead them to extraversion, to empower them to raise their voices, to motivate them to create cigar communities, and in collaboration with men to develop a better environment for aficionadas and aficionados.

This collaboration puts women-friendly cigar lounges on a map with a special tag to give them extra visibility within the rapidly growing Light “em Up community while at the same time it “strengthens everyone’s ability to promote an establishment that is cigar friendly for both women and men in every region across the globe.

As SOTL Global Movement’s Founder, Dr. Anastasia Psomiadi said: “The SOTL Global Movement invitesevery stakeholder in the cigar industry to sign the SOTL Global Movement MoU and contribute to an environment where women and men can both equallyenjoy their choices, in a world free from stereotypes, emphasis on uniqueness and respect.”

We, therefore, invite everyone to align their actions with the SGM’s principles and sign the SOTL Global Movement’s Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to obtain the Certification.

Per Mr. Lefty Karropoulos, Chief Business Development Officer for SOTL Global Movement, and Mr. Reinhard Pohorec, Founder of Light “em Up, it is very simple yet so important, and it will bring such a welcome change in the cigar world.
