Previously released in limited quantities every year, General Cigar Co. announced today the Punch Rare Corojo will become a regular-production cigar within the Punch portfolio. In addition, the company says Punch is also launching a new, limited-edition Rare Corojo size just for 2025. That cigar, a Box Pressed El Gordo (6 x 60), features the same blend as prior Rare Corojo limited-production releases. This cigar has an MSRP of $11.49.
Rare Corojo features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper with a distinctive reddish hue with a Connecticut Broadleaf binder over Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Dominican Piloto Cubano filler tobaccos. General says Rare Corojo is a medium-bodied blend with tasting notes of leather, wood, and cherry.

Punch’s brand manager, Scott Abney, said, “For years, Punch fans have clamored for more Rare Corojo, and we’re excited to deliver it to them as a regular-production line. The classic blend will be available across nine frontmarks in addition to the limited-edition Box Pressed El Gordo for 2025. You’ve waited patiently for this day to arrive; now it’s time to celebrate with a Rare Corojo or two.”
Punch Rare Corojo is produced at the STG Danlí factory in Honduras. The limited-edition Box Pressed El Gordo will begin shipping in early January, and it contains twenty cigars per box. The company adds that some Rare Corojo sizes contain twenty cigars per box, while others have twenty-five. The only exception is the Rothschild front mark which includes fifty cigars per box.
