PCA 2025: Casa Carrillo

April 18, 2025 By Matthew Tabacco

One of the biggest changes to this company that occurred right before the trade show began, was the fact that it changed its name. Casa Carrillo, formally known as E.P. Carrillo, has decided to change its name in an effort to better identify the entire family and multiple generations as they move forward as a company. This is the same name that they now use on their factory, which they renamed last year. E.P. Carrillo now simply represents one of the brands that is offered by the company.

Lissette Perez-Carrillo is undoubtably the company’s future star leader as Ernesto gets older. Look it’s just life, people get older and eventually move onto the next life. Most of the solid family brands that have been around for a while have a succession plan in place and almost all of them involved in the next generation of their family. This family also has made quite the impact which has been reflected through the cigars that they make.

There were two cigars that were a primary highlight at the Casa Carrillo booth. One of them is releasing soon and the other will come later this year. The first one is the new E.P. Carrillo Essence Series Connecticut. This joins the Honduras, Maduro and Sumatra lines as the fourth release in the series.

  • Wrapper: Ecuador (Connecticut-seed)
  • Binder: Honduras (Criollo 98)
  • Filler: Dominican Republic & Honduras
  • Sizes: Corona (5 1/2 x 44), Robusto (5 x 50), Toro (6 x 52)
  • MSRP: $8.75 – $10

The second cigar is the Perez-Carrillo Silk. This cigar was created by Lissette Perez-Carrillo with the thought and influence of women behind it. Samples of these cigars were sent out to stores and women with three different wrapper varieties and then picked which one they like most. The Perez-Carrillo said they were given Ecuador Habano, Ecuador Connecticut seed and Mexican San Andres. The Winning blend was the Ecuador Habano and will go into production. No photos were taken as the cigars were unavailable.

  • Wrapper: Ecuador Habano
  • Binder: Undisclosed
  • Filler: Undisclosed
  • Size: 6 x 52)
  • MSRP: TBD
  • Production: TBD
  • Release Date: Estimated Q3 2025

The Perez-Carrillo Silk will come in ten count boxes and ship later this year. Check out our interview with Lissette Perez-Carrillo below:
