Brand owner Lou Cross of Lure Cigars announced this week the release “The Last Cast” – the first
Limited Edition cigar to honor the memory of his late father, Lou Cross Jr.
One of the last and fondest memories shared with him was enjoying a cigar and telling stories.
He was a lifelong outdoorsman, avid fisherman, and a cigar enthusiast. “The Last Cast” is a
phrase used when fishing to note the final cast of the day/night, just before the end of the
outing. There’s hope for one more bite, one more thrilling moment, and one more tall tale to
tell. Lure Cigars brings people together through ‘Tackle & Tobacco’ and encourages cigar
enthusiasts to ‘Smoke Great Cigars & Tell Tall Tales.’
Following their core line releases in Corojo Oscuro, and Habano, Lure Cigars now offers an elegant yet
bold cigar in a limited-edition, double-banded, 6 x 52 toro. These cigars follow a
similar presentation as in the previous releases, packed in ten-count sealed wax packs, wrapped in
heavyweight craft stock (in tuxedo black), and also include Boveda humidification.

This Broadleaf blend was chosen for its popular and delicious flavor profile, offering notes of
espresso, leather, dark fig, and baking spices. The allocated wrapper tobaccos were also selected for their
attractive extra dark ebony shade. “The Last Cast” is a full-bodied, celebratory smoke that you will want
to make time to slow down, smoke intentionally, and reminisce about time well spent with family and
friends, especially those that are no longer with us.
The “The Last Cast” launches on June 1, 2024, at Lou’s dad’s home lounge, Jerry’s Cigar Shop in Tallahassee, Florida, the day that would have been his 91st birthday, the month Father’s Day is celebrated, and the month that he passed away last year. “The Last Cast” is also currently available for pre-order at our select retailers listing on the lurecigars.com website.
