Crowned Heads Announces Blood Medicine B-Positive LE 2025

August 20, 2025 By Matthew Tabacco

Crowned Heads is excited to announce an all-new brand extension to its highly sought-after brand, Blood Medicine, the Blood Medicine B-Positive LE 2025.

B-Positive is a riff on the original Blood Medicine blend, which originally began as an eventonly cigar in 2022, and then introduced as a one-size limited edition release in 2024, and most recently as a three-vitola limited release in March of this year. Blood Medicine B-Positive features the same blend as the original Blood Medicine release, but is finished with a Corojo cover leaf. “The B-Positive concept was something I began working on with the factory last year,” stated Crowned Heads President, Jon Huber. “I was looking for a darker, meatier expression of the Blood Medicine blend and experimented with several wrappers including Broadleaf (Connecticut) and a San Andres (Mexico) varietal, as well. Nothing really hit me until we started working with this Corojo wrapper, and once we did, it became clear that it took the blend to an entirely new dimension in flavor and intensity.”

Blood Medicine takes its name from a three-story building located on the corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue in downtown Nashville. That building was originally built as a pharmacy in 1872, and was later converted into a hotel in 1892. In 1988 the building would be purchased and re-opened as Merchants Restaurant. Evidence of the original pharmacy still remains, as evidenced by the painted words, “Blood Medicine,” still visible on the exposed brick wall on the third floor of the restaurant.

Blood Medicine B-Positive is a 6″ x 52 Toro, and features an Ecuadorian (Connecticut) binder, all Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, and is finished with a Nicaraguan Corojo cover leaf. Production of B-Positive is limited to 2,400 (12-count) boxes with a suggested retail price of $12.95 per cigar, and is manufactured at the D’Hatuey factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, home to such Crowned Heads brands as Mil Días, Mil Días Maduro, and Juárez.
