Gurkha to Discontinue Two Product Lines

September 5, 2023 By Matthew Tabacco

Gurkha Cigar Group International announces two of its regular product lines will soon be discontinued. The San Miguel and Treinta products have hit the chopping block in efforts to make room in the portfolio for further growth.

“We fully recognize that shelf space is real estate in our industry. In order to continue to offer new and improved products, we have made the tough decision to discontinue a couple of the old ones,” commented Juan Lopez, Vice President of Sales at Gurkha Cigars.

The Treinta will be discontinued as Gurkha has reached a new milestone of thirty-five years in the premium cigar industry and subsequently introduced the 35th Anniversary Cigar at this PCA Convention this past summer. “We’re proud to be in business for 35 years and wanted to commemorate the milestone with a special cigar,” said Jim Colucci, President of Gurkha Cigars. Soon to hit stores is Gurkha’s 35th Anniversary cigar and humidor. Adorned in a Ferrari Red humidor, the 35th Anniversary cigar boasts a Habano wrapper and comes in Toro, Torpedo and Figured shapes and sizes. This coming spring, the cigar will hit stores in ten count boxes.

Gurkha’s San Miguel cigar, made in conjunction with Aganorsa, will say goodbye to the humidor shelves in its traditional box packaging. To find this Nicaraguan Shade Grown Corojo blend, you’ll have to pick up one of Gurkha’s self-humidified sampler packs in the future.

Each product will continue to be sold as current packaging and inventory is available.  Also, the products will continue to be offered, for the time being, through the toro sampler packs such as the Boutique (green colored) baggie.  However, once they are gone, they will be gone.

Gurkha Cigars are known throughout the world for their premium cigars. The company produces millions of cigars per year that are sold in more than 70 countries worldwide. While Gurkha is known for its exclusivity, it has an impressive array of brands of flawlessly handcrafted, premium cigars created in a variety of strengths, tasting profiles and price-points. No matter what your taste, there’s a Gurkha cigar that’s perfect for your palate.
